The HotelVilla Angela: a dream come true. An encounter between Jim Kerr, the lead single of Simple Minds, and Antonio Chemi brought about this ambitious, while at the same time, romantic project in which two friends show their passion and love for Sicily, and in particular, Taormina. While on tour with Simple Minds in 1995, the singer of the famous Scottish band arrived to this Pearl of the Ionian Sea and fell hopelessly in love with the place. From that day, Jim and Antonio have dedicated their energy to creating a dream: a typical Sicilian residence to host friends, while sharing the beauty of this splendid island. Villa Angela was so created, confirming a friendship and the start of an adventure. Overlooking the crystal-like sea and Mount Etna, Villa Angela was constructed from the very first stone with great attention to detail: each space and every component was devised to transmit all the essence of Sicilian life.
CaratteristicsThe materials used are typical of the area, such as stone from Taormina, which was used to build the structure, wrought iron and local chestnut wood used for the furniture and Caltagirone ceramics. This elegant hotel in Taormina is in perfect symbiosis with the nature surrounding it, creating a sort of internal, external continuity. There are glass doors and windows everywhere looking onto the area surrounding the hotel, while the interior decor also includes terraces and a swimming pool, complete with terracotta vases, wrought iron tables and ceramics, not to mention the 50 species of plants, from citrus to the most scented flowers.
