Throughout thousands of years of history, Taormina was also colonized at one point by the Romans, which dedicated much of their time to the construction of authentic architectural works of art. Particular interest is placed on the Naumachie monuments and the most significant example of Roman architecture in Sicily: The Odeon, constructed in 21 B.C. under the reign of Cesare Ottaviano Augusto.
