Aeolian Islands
One of the most recommended excursions is that of the Aeolian Islands, especially Lipari - the largest and historically the most important. The islands achieved their name from Greek mythology, as it was believed that the Eolo, the god of wind, volcanoes and cyclones, resided here.
These islands are well distinguished for the beautiful countryside, and numerous natural springs.
